Meet Dr Melissa Aji

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Melissa Aji is a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and improve their mental wellbeing. She works with a broad range of presentations, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, complex trauma, sleep difficulties and insomnia, as well as relationship and family challenges. Dr Aji is passionate about supporting her patients to achieve meaningful, lasting change and a greater sense of balance in their lives.

Dr Aji has trained across a variety of leading health settings, including the Concord Centre for Mental Health, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, specialist sleep clinics, private practice, and research-based anxiety clinics. This diverse experience allows her to provide thoughtful, well-rounded care tailored to each individual.

She is trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her approach is warm, collaborative, and personalised, with a strong focus on empowering clients to build resilient, value-driven lives.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Aji is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Black Dog Institute, where she leads a team focused on advancing treatments for anxiety and sleep disorders. She is widely published and has presented her research at both national and international conferences. Dr Aji combines clinical expertise with research-informed practice to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care you can trust.
